Korea Research Institute of Ships & Ocean Engineering (KRISO)
KRISO (Korea Research Institute of Ships & Ocean engineering), established in 1973, is a government funded research institute in Republic of Korea and the leader in technology development in ships and ocean engineering. On January 1, 2014, KRISO was launched as an affiliate of Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology. As a leader in technology development in ship and ocean engineering, KRISO is striving to resolve national problems by developing, applying, commercializing and researching original technology. KRISO is also making efforts to meet the demand for technology and policy by carrying out innovative research on leading international standards. To this end, KRISO is conducting research in a range of areas, including environmentally friendly future shipping technology, ships and ocean engineering technology, maritime accident response and marine traffic system technology, and underwater robot and maritime equipment technology.
